What We Were Up Against
A major European retail bank faced a regulatory deadline for PSD2 compliance. They had no API infrastructure, a fragmented internal architecture, and a hard go-live date set by regulators. Failure to comply would result in significant fines and regulatory action.
How We Solved It
We deployed a dedicated 8-person team including two regulatory compliance specialists. We built a Kong-based API gateway sitting in front of their core systems, implemented the full Open Banking Standard API specification, and delivered a developer portal with interactive sandbox. We staged API releases to reduce risk, launching account information APIs in month 3 and payment initiation in month 5.
